Hello, my name is Richard Lamb, I am a hypnotherapist and psychotherapist with a background in NLP-based life coach. I am registered with the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council and National Council of Psychotherapists, and am a member of the Association for the Advancement of Psychosynthesis.
I offer people a combined approach of hypnotherapy, short-term psychotherapy and aspects of life coaching to resolve a wide range of challenges such as anxiety, habits, fears and the crises faced in major life transitions. I am able to tailor this therapeutic framework to meet the needs of each individual.
I believe that people have within themselves the solutions to the difficulties they experience, and the inner resources to call upon to deal with those difficulties; at the core of this vision when working with people is that of personal transformation and healing. I see my role as a guide in helping people to explore, discover and access their inner resources and innate potential.
For this exploration and discovery to occur, I offer to each person a safe, confidential and supportive environment in which they can express their issues, feelings and goals, that they may not be able to express elsewhere. This safe space allows them to really explore their problem, and understand what gave rise to the problem in order to resolve it.
I work with both long and short-term contracts, recognising that people vary a great deal in the amount of time it takes to change perspective on a problem. This is according to how deep-rooted the problem is and each individual’s capacity for change.
Above all, the work I do is both gentle and effective yet firm and grounded. It is not just about healing and mending, it is also about growing and moving on with increased confidence in developing a deeper understanding of your values, sense of personal meaning and living a purposeful and satisfying life.
